Chris represents clients throughout Western Michigan and on a case-by-case basis may provide services to clients throughout the State of Michigan

He regularly receives referrals from Financial Advisors, Certified Public Accountants, Realtors, Funeral Home Directors, and Elder Care Professionals who trust him to provide sound legal advice to their clients.

His goal is to help keep your private matters and estate administrations out of court. However, if the need arises, or if you find yourself faced with the task of petitioning the court for probate, guardianship, conservatorship, or a contested or complex trust or probate matter, he will compassionately and confidently guide you through the court process.

Chris’s willingness to listen, practical application of the law, and ability to clearly explain legal concepts to non-lawyers sets him apart from his peers.

He prides himself on being kind and communicative to ensure his clients understand each stage of the legal process.

Chris met his wife, Christina, in law school and they moved to Grand Rapids in 2018 to raise their children.  He serves on the board of their Christian elementary school.

Outside of work and church, Chris’s passions are fishing, camping, and the outdoors.

Christina counsels clients to ensure the estate planning decisions they

make are consistent with their values and beliefs.  She provides compassionate representation when a client’s loved one is physically or financially vulnerable and a Guardianship and Conservatorship is

necessary. When a client’s loved one passes away, she delivers calming support while ensuring proper legal procedure is followed.

Prior to obtaining her law license, Christina explored a legal career by

providing support to four attorneys in the areas of estate planning, civil litigation, alternative dispute resolution practices, and legal appeals.  She ran a weekly program for inner city children in Edmonton, Alberta, and advocated for children and families by clerking for the San Diego Department of Child Support Services.

Following law school, she worked as a prosecutor. She handled hundreds of cases, appeared in court more than one thousand times, and successfully conducted numerous jury trials. She also had the honor of serving as the Hate Crimes Deputy for the San Diego City Attorney’s Office Criminal Division.

Christina transitioned from public service to private trusts and estates practice when Chris and Christina’s firstborn child was born.

Christina enjoys taking the kids on adventures, singing, and songwriting. She looks forward to snowboarding in the winter and beach days and camping in the summer.  She values finding and creating opportunities to volunteer and engage with her church and the community.
